On 25 September 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 5591/QD-BCT on approving the “Power Development Plan of Yen Bai Province for Period 2011 – 2015, with Outlook to 2020” preprared by the Institute of Energy.
According to the approved Plan, the total provincial commercial electricity generation is projected to grow by 13.4%/year for period 2011-2015 and 12.2%/year for period 2016-2020. The per capita commercial electricity generation in 2015 is projected at 856 kWh per year and 1,461 kWh per year.
