Lumcloon Energy and the Institute of Energy Hanoi are joining forces to investigate the potential for energy storage solutions to enable the expansion of renewable power generation, wind and solar, in Vietnam as it transitions to cleaner and more sustainable sources of energy.
Nigel Reams, Managing Director of Lumcloon Energy and Dr. Hoang Tien Dung, General Director, Institute of Energy Hanoi, have signed a Collaboration Agreement which will synergise the capabilities from both organisations to conduct studies of the Vietnamese power system.
The studies will identify current and future power system challenges on the main grid as well as mini and island grids. Solutions based on energy storage will then be developed to address these challenges and deployed, initially as a pilots, to demonstrate performance.
Lumcloon Energy has gathered significant expertise and experience in the development of energy storage solutions based on its operations in Ireland where wind power generation has reached 60 percent on the island power system.
